The Role

We are seeking an innovative and visionary Senior Graphic Designer to lead our creative team and drive the development of compelling, brand-aligned campaigns. The ideal candidate will bring a strong strategic mindset, exceptional leadership abilities, and a knack for art direction. This role requires someone who can seamlessly blend creative vision with execution, delivering exceptional work that inspires audiences and achieves business goals.

Responsibilities

Creative Leadership

  • Develop and oversee creative strategies across various platforms, ensuring alignment with brand goals and messaging.
  • Create attention grabbing graphics for paid and organic campaigns on social media.
  • Work with our video editors to create storyboards and supporting graphics for all our videos.
  • Champion innovative ideas, pushing the boundaries of creativity while maintaining function over form.

Project Oversight

  • Lead the creative process from concept to completion, ensuring deliverables are on time and meet high-quality standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., marketing, product, and sales) to integrate creative solutions into broader campaigns.
  • Present creative concepts to stakeholders and clients, articulating the vision and value effectively.

Art Direction

  • Provide hands-on art direction, guiding the visual identity of campaigns and ensuring cohesive storytelling.
  • Review and refine designs and video, ensuring alignment with brand aesthetics and market trends.
  • Stay updated on industry design practices, tools, and technologies to continuously enhance the creative process.
  • Strategic Contribution:
  • Analyze market trends and audience insights to inform creative strategies.
  • Advocate for brand consistency across all channels and mediums.
  • Evaluate campaign performance, using data to refine and improve future efforts.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Fine Arts, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in a senior graphic design, including art direction.
  • A robust portfolio showcasing diverse campaigns and your expertise in art direction.
  • Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator & Photoshop) and an understanding of emerging creative tools.
  • Skills with Adobe After Effects are advantageous.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and inspire stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven ability to lead and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Preferred Attributes
  • Experience in both agency and in-house environments.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing trends, including social media, video production, and interactive design.
  • Exceptional time management skills.
  • Strong creative problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate ambiguity with confidence.

Details

Fully remote based in South Africa

Salary: $16,000 - $30,000 USD per annum
