ABOUT RAW CEREAL

Raw Cereal is a studio where we build the things we design. We aren't a traditional agency that hands off a mood board and walks away; we are involved from the first pencil sketch to the final load-out. We design massive stadium tours (Morgan Wallen, Lainey Wilson), high-gloss pop spectacles (Megan Thee Stallion, Cardi B), and corporate experiences that actually have a soul (Capital One, AMD).

THE ROLE

We are looking for a Creative Director to lead the visual narrative of our shows. You will be the primary storyteller, bridging the gap between the artist’s concept and the physical stage. While you need to understand the constraints of a tour, your main focus is the creative vision. You will dream up the look and feel (scenic, lighting, and video content) and partner closely with our technical Stage Designers to turn those concepts into buildable realities.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Architect the Pitch: You will take loose conversations with artists and turn them into clear, cinematic treatment decks. You need to be able to sell a complex visual story on a slide. If the deck doesn't look like the show, it’s not finished.
  • Direct the Video & Content: Screens are a massive part of modern touring. You aren't just placing LED walls; you are directing the visual language that plays on them. You will define the aesthetic for screen content, IMAG (camera) looks, and visual effects, ensuring the video content feels integrated with the lighting and set design.
  • Partner with Stage Designers: You aren't expected to draw technical schematics, but you will work side-by-side with the Stage Designers who do. You provide the creative direction and style; they provide the physics and drafting. You need to communicate your vision clearly so they can execute the structure.
  • Genre Versatility: You need to be adaptable. You’ll move between gritty country rigs, polished pop stages, and corporate keynotes. You need to respect the visual history of different genres while finding ways to make them feel new.

THE TOOLKIT

  • The Deck Stack: Expert speed in Photoshop and Figma. (Note: If you use Keynote or InDesign, let us know).
  • The Motion/Video Eye: You don't necessarily need to be a motion graphics animator, but you need to speak the language. Understanding After Effects, content mapping, and resolution workflows is key to directing the screen content effectively.
  • Conceptual 3D: Proficiency in Cinema 4D or Blender is highly preferred. We need you to block out ideas and compositions quickly so our visual artists can refine them.
  • Touring Awareness: 5+ years in the industry. You understand that a show moves, travels, and sets up daily. You design with that rhythm in mind.

WHO YOU ARE

  • Visual Storyteller: You obsess over composition, color palettes, and typography. You care about how the show feels to the audience.
  • Collaborative: We are a tight crew. You will trade files with designers, lighting directors, and content creators. No ego, just good work.
  • Unprocessed: We like ideas that feel authentic and disruptive, not safe and over-polished.
