Audience-Driven Presentation Designer (Events, Proposals, Client Calls)
UpworkShare this job:
We’re a fast-growing, premium educational services company working with highly discerning audiences (families, students, partners, and advisors). We’re looking for someone who can deeply understand our audience and translate that understanding into high-impact presentation decks that drive clarity, confidence, and conversion.
This is not a general design role.
And it is not marketing fluff.
We’re looking for someone who can think first, design second.
What you’ll be responsible for
You’ll work closely with the founder and senior team to create polished, client-facing decks, including:
- Event presentation decks (clear, authoritative, confidence-building)
- Process overview decks used on client and family calls
- Client proposal decks that explain value, approach, and outcomes
Your job is to help the audience understand, trust, and decide.
Specifically, you will
- Translate written ideas, outlines, or rough drafts into clear, persuasive slide decks
- Structure information so it flows logically and feels effortless to follow
- Design with restraint, hierarchy, and intent — no clutter, no gimmicks
- Adapt tone and structure based on the audience (parents, students, partners, internal)
- Create reusable templates and visual systems that scale
- Improve decks over time based on feedback and real-world use
⸻
What you will not be doing
- Inventing messaging or strategy independently
- Writing copy from scratch without guidance
- Designing “flashy” or over-animated slides
- Running ads, funnels, or marketing campaigns
- Producing high-volume or low-judgment design work
This role values judgment over output.
⸻
The kind of person we’re looking for
You’re likely a strong fit if you
- Have experience designing client-facing, executive, consulting, or professional-services decks
- Think deeply about audience psychology and decision-making
- Can simplify complex ideas without dumbing them down
- Understand how structure, pacing, and emphasis affect comprehension
- Prefer calm, premium, and intentional design
- Are comfortable collaborating closely with a founder
- Are reliable, discreet, and detail-oriented
Experience in education, professional services, consulting, or advisory work is a plus, but not required.
⸻
Working style & scope
- Fully remote
- Asynchronous work is fine
- Fractional / ongoing relationship
- Expect roughly $200–$400/month to start, with room to grow based on fit and impact
- Paid per deck or per month (flexible)
⸻
How to apply
Please include
- A short note about your background and how you approach audience-driven design
- 2–4 examples of presentation decks (client, proposal, event, or executive decks preferred)
- A brief explanation of why one of your examples works for its intended audience
If you enjoy turning thoughtful ideas into presentations that feel clear, confident, and persuasive — and you care more about impact than decoration — this will be a very good fit.
