This remote role has a salary range of $25 - $29 / hr depending on skills and experience, with a generous leave and benefits package.

SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Prepress Design Specialist preflights, prepares, and revises digital artwork for flexible packaging,
ensuring files meet industry quality and production standards. This detail-oriented role requires expertise
in the Adobe Creative Suite, advanced prepress knowledge, and experience with Esko Automation
Engine. This role is responsible for helping correct any technical issues in customer files, as well as,
making customer requested art revisions. The Prepress Design Specialist must have effective
communication skills for collaborating with customers, sales, and prepress.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receiving, examining, and updating digital files to meet quality standards.
- Reviewing artwork layout, design, and specifications against production guidelines.
- Identifying and resolving file issues to prepare them for print, all while adhering to quality
- requirements.
- Preparing, constructing, and updating files, including sizing, cropping, color correction, and
- retouching.
- Performing initial and final preflight checks for technical issues (e.g., text outlining, color space,
- bleeds, resolution).
- Formatting and manipulating files to match client specifications.
- Communicates with customers directly on an as needed basis either via conference calls to ensure
- customer satisfaction.
- Demonstrates an understanding of ePac’s workflow in order to make corrections to customer
- files.
- Writes emails that effectively communicate information regarding artwork files.
- Adhering to strict timelines in a fast paced environment.
- Shares prepress knowledge and techniques as well as job-specific information with Prepress
- Coordinators, Sales Support Specialists, Sale Reps, management, and plant operations, as
- required.
- Works with a team to develop procedures and workflows relevant to the prepress area.
- Demonstrates appropriate attitude in all dealings with co-workers, customers, and suppliers.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Helps across the ePac team for quick make-ready files
- Works easily, productively and professionally with others
- Extremely organized and is able to prioritize and work independently
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Deep and demonstrated working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
- Strong working knowledge of file conversion, color conversion, imposition, composition, proof
- and press alignment
- Experience with digital printing on flexible packaging substrates (highly considered)
- Strong Attention to detail
- Communication skills
- Knowledge and skilled usage of Google Suite
- Adaptability
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, preferred
- At least 1+ years in prepress, file and/or color profiling and print file preparation
- Strong working knowledge of digital print processes and DFEs (HP Production Pro and Esko highly considered)
- Strong working knowledge of Esko Automation Engine, Esko DeskPack (highly considered)
- Strong understanding of printing processes (digital, offset, flexo and gravure highly considered)
- Trouble shooting/problem solving skills
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Mostly professional office setting with minimal travel to plant locations
- Minimal time on the production floor
- Follows all safety rules and regulations; wears PPE.
