Graphic Design Production Assistant for Packaging

Gold Spark Design is a packaging-focused design studio working with small and mid-sized CPG brands. As our client work grows, we’re looking for an experienced Production Assistant to help execute and finalize packaging projects with precision — from inbox to print-ready files.

What you’ll be doing

· Working out of a shared customer service inbox to manage daily client requests

· Making detailed updates to existing packaging designs

· Extending approved designs across SKUs, flavors, and formats

· Creating new packaging designs using established templates and brand systems

· Preparing, organizing, and saving print-ready files according to printer specs

· Applying working knowledge of FDA food labeling requirements

· Sending final proofs to clients and managing revision rounds

· Creating digital product mockups for client approval and marketing use

What we’re looking for

· 5+ years of packaging design experience

· Strong print production knowledge (labels, flexible packaging, cartons)

· Comfort working with FDA-regulated packaging

· Advanced Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop skills

· Highly detail-oriented, organized, and deadline-driven

· Comfortable communicating clearly and professionally with clients

· Able to work independently within established systems and templates

The structure

· Freelance / contract

· $500 weekly retainer covering up to 10 hours of work per week

· Work is distributed across Monday-Friday based on client needs and workload

· Some days may require brief check-ins; other days may require more focused production time

· Daily inbox check-ins are required on working days to manage client requests and updates

· Time off is flexible with advance notice; coverage expectations will be discussed as needed
