Volunteer: Graphic Design: Children's Coloring Activity Book for Cancer Patients

Koenig Childhood Cancer Foundation, Inc.

This is a volunteer opportunity provided by Taproot Foundation, a nonprofit creating social change through pro bono connections.

We are seeking an illustrator/designer to create a coloring activity book for children (ages 4-16) battling cancer. The book will be published via Amazon KDP and include 30 pages (some in color) with engaging, age-appropriate illustrations and text. Pages should have a clear reading flow and a warm, comforting style. The project deadline is March 2026 to bring the book to our summer camp. This inspirational coloring activity book shares the true story of Elana—a teen cancer survivor and singer—who turned her pain into a mission to help children with cancer. We are seeking a thoughtful expert who will handle this deeply personal project with care and sensitivity. The previous edition needs to be redesigned or recreated from scratch.

This book will provide some comfort and healing to children fighting cancer in hospitals. It will also raise awareness for our cause and bring hope to young patients.

We will provide visual branding guidelines, written copy, compelling stories, images, and examples of impact reports for your reference. Volunteers will collaborate closely with our team throughout the design process. The ideal volunteer has experience illustrating and designing children's coloring books and is prepared to share a portfolio of design work. Estimated volunteer time: 15-30 hours over 4-5 weeks.

Koenig Childhood Cancer Foundation Mission: Koenig Childhood Cancer Foundation provides life-saving financial and emotional support to children battling cancer and their families.
