Production Artist – Packaging Design
Join the MBD team as a Production Artist and help transform creative concepts into flawless, print-ready packaging that strengthens our clients brand presence and captivates their customers.
The role is full-time (40 hours), Mon – Fri, 9 - 5.30pm reporting to the Production Manager and is open to remote working in the US (EST) only.
The pay range for this role is $60,000 to $80,000 dependent on experience.
We are seeking a skilled Production Artist with experience in digital packaging production who will prepare precise, print-ready artwork that meets technical requirements and brings our client’s vision to life.

What you’ll do
- Prepare, review, and finalize complex packaging artwork files (e.g., cartons, labels, flexible packaging, rigid boxes) for various print methods (e.g., flexography, lithography, digital, gravure).
- Perform essential pre-press tasks including:
- Color Separation & Management: Accurate color separation, spot color conversion, trapping, overprinting, and color correction to match proofs and brand standards.
- File Preparation: Ensure all fonts are outlined, links are embedded, and files are clean and press ready.
- Dieline Integration: Work precisely with supplied dielines, cutters, and structural designs to ensure artwork fits perfectly.
- Quality Control: Conduct thorough quality checks on all files to identify and correct any errors or inconsistencies before release to print.
- Apply printer specifications and substrate requirements accurately.
- Troubleshoot artwork and pre-press issues efficiently, providing technical guidance and solutions
What you’ll bring
- Extensive experience with digital artwork in a packaging context preferably in a fast-paced studio.
- Expert level digital artwork assembly skills required in both Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- An understanding of print processes for packaging.
- Comfortable working in a macOS environment and adept at using collaborative tools (Outlook, Teams)
- Excellent communication, organizational, and math skills.
- Highly organized and accountable, able to manage multiple concurrent deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Flexible approach with the ability to work in a fast-paced studio handling high volumes to tight deadlines.
