Visual / Graphic Designer (Equity Opportunity)

The world is changing, fast, and we're going to need a social network which rises to the occasion — Octopii is that social network — and we need your help to design it!

In development for 15 months, and just weeks away from a 1.0 launch, Octopii Social is well-positioned to source a VC seed round, while simultaneously establishing traction with our first GA users — it’s an exciting time to come aboard, and we can’t wait to share our outstanding accomplishments with you!

At this time we are in search of our first Visual / Graphic Designer — a superb vector illustrator to define the overall tone and character of the Octopii app. Initially focusing on onboarding illustrations (small animated elements a plus), and eventually graduating towards in-app tutorials, as well as fresh takes on familiar icons, micro-animations, and more!

Role Description

This is an equity-based volunteer role for a Graphic / Visual Designer with potential to transition to a full-time role upon VC funding and/or consistent revenue stream.

The individual in this role will create delightful graphics to set the tone of the entire app, starting with onboarding illustrations, endearing characters, simple animations (or complex!), in-app icons, and much more.

We are also looking for a mobile app UI/UX Designer — any skill overlaps are a massive plus. If you're an excellent graphic / visual designer looking to build out a UI/UX/Web design portfolio while earning equity in the next big thing, then this is the role for you!

Minimum Qualifications

• Excellent vector illustration talent with a penchant for infusing software with character
• A kind disposition with excellent soft-skills
• Passion for saving the world through technology

Massive Bonus Points

• Experience designing promotional websites
• Experience designing mobile app UI elements (Figma preferred)
• Experience creating and managing design systems (Figma preferred)

Compensation

Equity amount to be determined by skillset, totality of contributions, and overall impact to the Octopii app and team.

Please note, we don't expect to formalize equity paperwork until we've entered into VC funding discussions and/or have obtained the required revenue to hire full-time employees with competitive compensation — we're looking for someone who's just as passionate as we are about changing the world and willing to take a chance to make it happen — just as we are.
